A self-catering gîte for up to 10 people.
These prices are for exclusive use of the whole station for self-catering parties of up to ten people, and the rent includes gas, electricity, water, sheets, towels, linen, laundry, kitchen basics, pool maintenance and cleaning. The beds are made up when you arrive, and I can arrange a fridgeful of food or a meal for your first evening if you wish.
An initial deposit of 25% of the full rent is required to secure a telephone/email reservation. The balance is payable at least eight weeks before the start of your holiday, along with a (normally returnable) security deposit of € 500 per week. Payments may be made in Sterling at the current exchange rate.
Holidays are from 4pm Saturday to 10am Saturday unless we agree otherwise beforehand.
I am happy to shop and prepare meals for you, help to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries or other special occasions, act as tour guide and chauffeur, collect you from the airport or TGV station, help you make bookings and arrange visits – full pampering service is my speciality. Just let me know how I can make your holiday more enjoyable.
NOW AVAILABLE – Art courses at la gare de Sos organised by www.artwithinterest.co.uk (watch this space for 2018 dates or contact them via the website) and guided tours in English of the spectacular Château du Fréchou nearby, recently bought by a friend (www.chateaudufrechou.com).
We have had four adults here for a week and it has worked brilliantly. We loved the old station, loved the well-equipped kitchen, loved the swimming pool and the wildlife.
For us it’s mostly about the food and we visited three of the local markets buying duck, sausages, chicken, salami and cheese as well as amazing fresh salad veg and fruit.
David has been the perfect host and we have enjoyed having the dogs around (although we miss our own).
You made everything so nice. We have all had a very relaxing time which is exactly what we came for. The station is a joy, full of interest. We all have something special to remember
What a fabulous house! Everything you could possibly need – and then a bit more…! Loved the history of the place, the old photos and posters, station plans and information. Books dipped into, a puzzle done here and a lot of relaxing around – and in – the pool. The children had a fantastic time swimming and splashing and eating fresh croissants, pains au chocolat and pains aux raisins for breakfast
Our 11th summer coming to the Gare and it may have been our best yet!
Just one week off work but it’s seemed like three, slow, relaxed and warm. Finally seen the red squirrels, only taken eleven years! Discovered the pain aux raisins at the baker’s in Ste Maure and wondered why we’ve never been there before? Love lunch at “la pièce de boeuf” which is always pork…
…another wonderful week in la Gare. Weather hasn’t been too bad for time of year. A week here just isn’t long enough. Very relaxed stay…
